WHO AM I

Hello, I’m Miguel Ângelo Rebelo, a Machine Learning Engineer and Data Scientist from Portugal that refuses to write in the third person. Throughout my scientific path I've mainly focused on questions related with Population Genetics, from Ovarian Cancer and Alzheimer's disease modelling to Grapevine Genomic analysis. I'm thrilled by the capabilities of good Computational Statistics and what it can bring to the table. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, I develop and apply Deep Learning and Data Mining pipelines for industrial purposes, and take these models into production, packaging them into high-performance APIs. I have published works on genomic analysis of grapevine varieties, multimodal analysis of the Alzheimer's disease and Hybrid Recommender Systems.

I’m also a Music Composer, plus a Photography and Film-making enthusiast (yes, everything on this site was composed, shot and directed by me). Due to my classical training I lean on orchestral and ambient music, exploring avant-garde textures and ethereal soundscapes.
